Imran Kabeer Joins SFL as Head of Global Marketing

Q: We would love to know more about your background and experience!

A: I served as the head of business design and marketing at a global supply chain company, overseeing marketing, vertical scaling and customer acquisitions across 38 countries.

Prior to that, I was leading global marketing for software, communications and strategic consulting firms.

Q: What are your main responsibilities in your new role at SFL?

A: At SFL, I head the marketing function, overseeing brand development, product positioning and driving new market and customer acquisition.

Q: What inspired you to join our company?

A: I met the founders of SFL Raja Ratandeep and Ikraam Reyaz in the UAE. I was drawn by their passion to transform the supply chain landscape through digitization and technology. Their daring ambition resonated with me, making it an opportunity I simply couldn’t miss!

Q: What key features, skills or strengths do you believe you bring to the team?

A: Having worked across global markets in product, service and solutions companies for 16 years alongside international colleagues, I enjoy the creative and strategic challenges in driving business growth and scalability through marketing. I believe that my skill set, and experience will contribute to realizing the ambitions of SFL.

Q: What are some of your hobbies or interests beyond work?

A: I enjoy cycling and watching Formula1.

Q: What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?

A: I still watch cartoons! Never grew out of them, and most likely never will.

Q: Could you let us know where you grew up, and what your childhood was like?

A: My early childhood was in Singapore. I had to adapt to Sri Lanka once I moved back during my early teens. Having been exposed to multiple cultures and foods at an early age, I look forward to travel as much as possible.

Q: Is there anything else you’d like your colleagues to know about you?

A: I truly value perspective and insight, and always welcome feedback. Each individual is unique and we all see things from different perspectives. That makes marketing all the more interesting when everyone is collaborating and sharing ideas. I’d like my colleagues to share their thoughts and opinions wherever possible!
